Specialist Accountancy Practice recruitment consultancy, Clark Wood, are working with a modern and highly progressive firm of chartered accountants in the Swindon area who are now looking to add an ambitious Accounts Semi Senior to their growing team.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a driven individual to join a well-renowned independent firm where you will gain exposure to a diverse range of clients and where there will be genuine scope for career development and progression.

The successful person will undertake a varied general practice role and will be responsible for drafting year-end accounts for limited companies, sole traders, and partnerships as well as the preparation of the associated corporate and personal tax computations and returns. You will also be involved in the completion of bookkeeping work for clients as well as the preparation of management accounts and VAT returns.

The ideal candidate will have at least 1 – 2 years’ experience of working in practice and will have experience of using online accounting software such as Xero and Quickbooks.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Preparation of draft accounts for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies
Preparation of personal returns
Preparation of corporate tax computations and returns
Bookkeeping work for clients
Preparation of VAT returns and management accounts
Liaising with clients to resolve queries where necessary
Communication with clients in relation to taxation matters including arranging delivery of information and meetings to sign off tax returns
Communication with HMRC in relation to client taxation matters
Assisting managers and partners with other client related tasks


AAT Qualified or ACA / ACCA Students
Practice experience is essential
Strong online accounting software experience (Xero and Quickbooks preferred)
