Working as a part of the API and Integrated Solutions EMEA Sales Team alongside the Head of Payment Solutions and Account Managers, the API Business Development Manager will identify new API sales opportunities, pitch AFEX API products and services, build relationships with customers and strategic partners to aid new revenue
This role should act as a Brand Ambassador for AFEX, to act in a way that promotes AFEX’s vision to be “a trusted business partner”. All actions and interactions both internally and externally should be executed to underpin and uphold the AFEX core values:

Research and identify potential clients, identify decision makers and qualify leads received
Prospect new clients through networking, attending industry events, meetings, cold calling
Generate good working rapport with key decision makers in multi stakeholder opportunities
Build a strong pipeline of relevant opportunities to deliver against sales targets and within defined time scales
Build an understanding of the AFEX API functionality and the how to position the product in the UK and European market
Produce client facing commercial proposals
Assist the Head of Payment Solutions to prepare profitable contracts with clients to meet revenue targets and maximise ROI
Anticipate and proactively identify objections, questions and queries clients may have regarding the AFEX API
Manage and report on sales pipeline
Communicate with the Head of Payment Solutions to ensure efficient handover of new business in preparation for high level scoping and initiation of technical integration
Minimum of 2 years of business development experience in payments or technology sales in a non-bank environment
Repeatable and reliable sales methodology to plan and develop sales
Proven track record of meeting sales targets in new business development
Accurate revenue forecast and realisation
Strong negotiation skills to secure profitable contracts and agreements
Excellent interpersonal and communications skills
Strong English language skills required, both written and oral
Working knowledge of foreign exchange markets and their conventions
University degree required
