Responsibilities

The Commercial Banking Specialist Manager is responsible for managing the work of the Commercial Banking Specialists (CBS) and regional Commercial Banking Administrators in the areas of loan and account documentation, closing, funding, restructuring and administration of Commercial relationships while employing and instilling the highest level of customer service ethics. Ensures consistent training, development, mentorship, and dotted-line supervision of staff to maintain compliance with Bank policies, procedures and regulatory guidelines. Collaborates with Regional Leadership and Commercial Banking Administration to maintain proper CBS coverage. Assists in the creation and maintenance of department and loan origination system procedures, supports regional compliance staff, and acts as a subject matter expert on pertinent policies, laws and regulations.

Education / Experience

  • Associates or Bachelor’s degree in Business or Accounting preferred, or equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience.

  • 6 years relevant experience in Commercial Lending


  • Skills and Abilities

  • Prior experience managing individuals and teams, hiring, conducting performance evaluations, and developing others.

  • Strong listening and communication skills with the ability to deliver quality customer service to both internal and external customers in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment.

  • Extensive knowledge of Commercial Lending, including loan documentation, loan transaction accounting, and end-to-end lending processes.

  • Experience in creating and implementing banking policies, procedures, practices and documentation.

  • Knowledge of applicable regulations and how they are integrated in the lending process.

  • Knowledge of audit methodology to understand exam practices and achieve sustainable remediation solutions

  • Ability to maintain confidential and highly sensitive information

  • Intermediate-to-expert competency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams); bank accounting (loan, deposit and general ledger); electronic file storage;

  • Preferred: customer relationship management program; loan origination/workflow systems
