To complete a full and accurate Night Audit function, ensure the safety and security of the hotel and its guests during the night, and act as manager on duty for overnight shift as necessary.

SCOPE / BUSINESS CONTEXT

    Experience:
  • Experience in similar role or Reception is preferred
  • Experience with Front Office systems is preferred
  • Skills and Knowledge:
  • Strong Communication skills (verbal, listening, writing)
  • Very good spoken and written English language
  • Good numerical skills
  • Pro-active and reliable
  • Able to work alone and within a team
  • Education or Certification:
  • BTEC/NVQ qualification or similar level of education
  • SPECIFIC DUTIES

    The following are specific responsibilities and contributions critical to the successful performance of the position:

  • Maintain and process period transaction data and reports, and daily revenue reporting.
  • Post all late charges and all guest check corrections to guest folios in time for express checkouts.
  • Deputize as the Night Team Leader on duty as necessary, including appropriate handling of all guest, associate and emergency situations that arise during the shift.
  • To show hotel room status, check guests in and out of hotel as required.
  • To answer the switchboard, transfer calls, take messages and provide information as required. Knowledge of voicemail, telephone direct dial and Wi-Fi.
  • To be responsible within the reception department for all monies, floats, keys and safety deposits etc.
  • Receive payments checking they are correct - processing and balancing as necessary.
  • Book early calls as requested by guests.
  • To run End of Day and system Back-ups.
  • To contact relevant support in the event of computer or systems failures.
  • To hand over to Duty Manager or relevant department manager any computer or systems failures.
  • Drop all paid in cash to drop safe for accounts department.
  • Carry out float checks.
  • Print bills for express checkout and ensure delivery to rooms.
  • Balance relevant in house accounts in order run night audit.
  • To regularly undertake thorough security checks within the hotel and car park to ensure safety of guests and their property.
  • Preparation and delivery of 24 hour room service menu to the required high standard.
  • To make sure hotel areas are clean if needed
  • To assist with guest luggage when required.
  • Each associate is expected to carry out, within their capabilities, all reasonable requests by management.
  • All Cash Handling/ Revenue recording tasks must be undertaken in accordance with Company Policy and the relevant audit requirements, i.e, IRSA Audit and Audit Lite.
  • All Cash Handling/ Revenue recording tasks must be trained by the HOD and/or expert in subject area (Finance Department)
  • To be aware and train in Foreign Currency Exchange/ Practices
