We are currently looking for a highly experienced and professional full time Payroll Officer to join the People team at our Camberwell Support Office.

Reporting to the Payroll Team Leader, the successful incumbent will play key role in the Payroll Department not only by processing payrolls but providing ongoing support to the team and wider Business Units. The role is also responsible for contributing and providing best practice and driving process improvements to achieve the desired outcomes.

About the Role

Responsibilities for this position are (but not limited to):

  • Support and ensure the pay runs for the API Group & Clear Skincare Clinics are calculated and processed in accordance with relevant Awards and Enterprise Agreements
  • Perform complex calculations for payroll transactions applying appropriate tax treatments i.e. redundancies and terminations
  • Investigating and resolving payroll issues and queries
  • Assisting in the maintenance of the team mailbox across all pay points
  • Play a key role in the transition of hard copy files to an online directory for Payroll via a scan and save process
  • Responding to all duties assigned by your team leader as required
  • About You

  • A minimum of 5+ years’ experience as a Payroll Officer processing large volume payroll is a must
  • Qualifications in Finance or Business related discipline would be advantageous
  • Thorough understanding of current payroll legislation
  • Resilience and a strong sense of character
  • A team player with a strong focus on teamwork
  • Proven ability to develop effective partnerships to proactively find solutions and efficiencies in processes
  • Ability to work under pressure and develop workplans to achieve deadlines
  • Excellent written & verbal communication skills
  • Experience using large Payroll systems preferred. API uses Affinity, Timeteq and Success Factors
