SMEH Teacher - English/Enrichment/Exams

Are you looking for an exciting new challenge? Are you interested in teaching children with emotional and social needs? Do you work well as part of a small team, when you are given the independence to work in a way that suits you?

An SMEH Teacher / Social, Emotional and Mental Health Teacher is required for a permanent, full time post at an independent school in Barnsley.

The role would involve delivering English in the mornings to students working right from a primary level up to foundation GCSE. During the afternoons, NVQs are delivered and what you taught would depend on your background. The school have offered various subjects before such as Hospitality, Animal Care, Life Skills and Art Awards. Therefore, this is a great opportunity for a teacher who likes variety and feels they can bring something special to the role and the student offer.

Alongside your teaching timetable, there would also be the responsibility of being Exams Officer. There is an additional £3000 p/a top up for this. No direct experience is required, but knowledge of exam criteria and assessment would be useful.

The ideal SMEH Teacher teacher will have:

?Experience delivering English to at least Y6 level

?Experience in a similar setting or with teaching children that exhibit behaviours that challenge

?Positive approach to teaching

?The ability to build good relationships with the staff and pupils

?Some knowledge of exam criteria
