Shifts are normally offered between 9.00 - 3.30, Monday to Friday, for this position, however there are no guaranteed hours
Although this is an occasional hours post without guaranteed hours, there may be regular weekly hours offered due to the current needs of the Service, this may vary due to Service need.
Derbyshire Community Support Service is contracted to run a housing related Crisis 1-1 Service and also runs groups in the community for adults with disabilities.
We are looking for staff to work mainly on the Crisis 1-1 Service but also to cover groups as necessary. This job will involve working across Amber Valley, Erewash and South Derbyshire. As far as possible, staff will be offered work within their local area but may be required to work in other areas throughout South Derbyshire. Due to the nature of the work, own transport is required for this role. We are looking for reliable, dynamic and flexible individuals who can make a difference to people's everyday lives.
This role is mainly a lone working role, within a small, friendly team, with support from the Team Leader, involving working with clients with a diverse range of needs to achieve specified housing related outcomes, for example obtaining and setting up a tenancy, budgeting, setting up financial systems, supporting with de-cluttering, working alongside other professionals and agencies etc. This will be discussed in further detail at interview.
Group cover is also occasionally required, this involves working in the community groups, supporting adults with disabilities to participate in activities, providing personal care as required and supporting at mealtimes etc. Again this will be discussed in further detail at interview.
As a Support Worker with Leonard Cheshire you’ll provide a high level of care and support to vulnerable people, enabling them to live the life they choose, motivating and encouraging choice and participation.
Experience as a Support Worker, Care Assistant or Healthcare Assistant is desirable but not essential as we offer an excellent training and induction programme to get you fully trained in your new role!
